Based on the Mantis, the Muse offers a high level of performance and value in a US made, artisan built kite.
I designed the Muse a couple years ago as a platform for my kitebuilding workshops. The concept was simple - simplify without compromising. I began with an attractive, but simpler sail pattern to cut down on the building time. Also simpified are the standoff adjustments (there aren't any), and the bridle.
From the Mantis, the Muse gets its precision and good manners, while still keeping enough of the technical flying capabilities to keep things interesting. Even though the two kites share basic geometry, the changes to the sail have given the Muse its own personality. I find it to be a little smoother and have a slightly tighter turn radius. The Muse is equally comfortable doing on-the-deck Jacob's ladders as it is towing a 100 foot tail across the beach at sunset.
The Muse is available in two standard color combinations. The first selection (blue, silver & black) is a permanent combo. The second standard combination will vary based on fabric availablity and/or my mood that day. ;-)
